1. AEO-3, AEO-4, and AEO-5 are easily soluble in oil and polar solvents, diffuse in water, have good emulsifying properties, and can be used as w/o emulsifiers for mineral oil and aliphatic solvents. The emulsification of polyvinyl chloride plastisol, the viscosity reducer of polyvinyl chloride plastisol, is widely used in chemical fiber oils. AEO-3 is the main raw material for the production of AES, and AEO-4 can be used as an emulsifier for silicone and hydrocarbons, and dry cleaning agents.
2. AEO-7 and AEO-9 are easily soluble in water and have excellent emulsifying, cleaning, and wetting properties. They are used as a wool cleaning agent and degreasing agent, fabric scouring agent, and cleaning agent in the wool spinning industry. They can be used as liquid washing agents, which is an important part of the agent. Used as an emulsifier in the production of cosmetics and ointments, it exhibits excellent emulsifying, dispersing, and wetting properties for mineral oil, animal, and vegetable oils. Additionally, it can be used as an emulsifier for glass fiber spinning oil.
3. AEO-15, AEO-20, AEO-23 are used as wool degreasing agents, fabric cleaning agents, liquid detergents, hydrocarbon solvents and general industrial emulsifiers, essential oil solubilizers, wetting agents, antistatic agents, and electric ferry industry brighteners. AEO-20 is used as a leveling agent in the printing and dyeing industry, with remarkable effect and good scouring performance. Adding this auxiliary agent to the dyeing industry can not only achieve the purpose of slow dyeing and level dyeing, but also enhance the fastness of dyeing, bright coloring, and beauty.

This series of products is non-toxic and non-flammable, according to the general chemical storage. lt is transported as non-toxic and non-dangerous goods, stored in a dry and ventilated place, with a storage period of two years.
Emulsifier AEO can also be called fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether, fatty alcohol ethoxylates, and ethoxylated fatty alcohol. With CAS NO.68439-51-0, Emulsifier AEO mainly has ten different models, AEO-1, AEO-2, AEO-3, AEO-4, AEO-5, AEO-7, AEO-9, AEO-10 and AEO-23. A core characteristic of the AEO series surfactants is that their hydrophilic/lipophilic balance (HLB value) varies with the length of the polyoxyethylene chain, which directly determines their suitability for use in various formulations.
• Low-number variants such as AEO-1, AEO-2, and AEO-3 possess shorter polyoxyethylene chains and lower HLB values, exhibiting strong lipophilicity. Consequently, they are highly suitable for use in oily systems and non-polar solvents. For instance, during the emulsification of mineral oils, aliphatic solvents, and PVC pastes, these low HLB variants efficiently emulsify oily components while reducing system viscosity.
• Medium HLB grades such as AEO-4, AEO-5, AEO-7, and AEO-9 feature extended polyethylene oxide chains, resulting in intermediate HLB values. This confers dual emulsifying capability over oil phases while maintaining good water solubility, making them ideal for water-soluble detergents, wool degreasing agents, and cosmetic emulsifiers. These grades form stable emulsions between aqueous and oily components while providing excellent wetting and dispersing properties.
• High-value grades such as AEO-15, AEO-20, and AEO-23 possess longer polyethylene oxide chains and higher HLB values, exhibiting pronounced hydrophilic characteristics. This enables near-complete dissolution in aqueous systems, making them suitable for liquid detergents, textile dyeing leveling agents, or essential oil solubilizers.
High HLB grades not only enhance emulsification and dispersion capabilities in aqueous phases but also achieve delayed dyeing and even dyeing effects during the dyeing process, improving colour fastness and colour brilliance. Through this HLB value gradient, we can clearly observe the differences in emulsification direction, solubility, and application scenarios among various grades of the AEO series, thereby providing precise selection criteria for formulation design.
