Polyester POY oil agent is a spinning oil specifically designed for polyester partially oriented yarn (POY). It lubricates, oils and provides antistatic treatment to the yarn during the spinning process, ensuring smooth subsequent drawing, deformation and weaving operations.
Its primary components comprise refined mineral oil or synthetic esters as base lubricants, combined with non-ionic or anionic surfactants as emulsifiers to enable uniform dispersion of the oil agent across the fibre surface. Antistatic agents are also incorporated to minimise static charge accumulation during high-speed yarn movement, thereby preventing fly-off, breakage, and entanglement. Where necessary, functional additives such as softeners, dispersants, and rust inhibitors may be incorporated to enhance fibre handfeel, improve bundling properties, and prevent equipment corrosion.
Polyester POY oils are typically applied as a 10-15% emulsion, uniformly coated onto yarn via nozzles or rollers, with a recommended oil application rate of approximately 0.3%-0.4%. This oil must exhibit excellent thermal stability, low foaming properties, and easy washability to ensure complete removal during subsequent dyeing and finishing processes, thereby not compromising fabric dyeing uniformity or final quality.
