Polyester FDY oil agent is a high-performance spinning oil specifically designed for polyester fully drawn yarn (FDY). It provides lubrication, antistatic properties, and bundle protection during spinning, drawing, and winding processes, thereby ensuring uniform and stable yarn formation.
Its typical formulation comprises refined mineral oil or synthetic ester base oils blended with non-ionic or anionic surfactants as emulsifiers, enabling the oil agent to form a stable emulsion in water and adhere uniformly to the yarn. Antistatic agents are incorporated to prevent yarn breakage, hairiness, and entanglement caused by static electricity generated during high-speed stretching. Concurrently, synthetic smoothing agents and lubricants reduce friction coefficients between fibres and between fibres and guide components, enhancing sliver smoothness and windability. Dispersants, softeners, and preservatives may also be included to enhance emulsion stability, improve yarn hand feel, and extend oil storage life.
FDY oil can be applied directly via nozzles or oil pumps during production, or prepared as a 10-20% emulsion for use. The recommended oil application rate is typically 0.8%-1.2%. This oil requires excellent thermal stability, low foaming properties, easy washability, and resistance to yellowing to ensure complete removal during subsequent dyeing and finishing processes without compromising fabric colour, handfeel, or final product quality.
